Pressure treated wood becomes very moist during the treatment process. This can cause mildew and
fungi, especially in the summer season. The fungi have no effect on the quality and strength of the wood;
it will disappear over time or can easily be removed by hand. You can remove light fungal growth by
spraying the wood with mould cleaner. Wash the wood after thirty minutes.. More severely affected
areas can be treated with a chlorinated household cleaner. Fine-sawn larch/Douglas fir is freshly
sawn and has a high moisture content. The moisture can cause mould during storage and processing.
Tuindeco treats all freshly sawn larch/Douglas fir with an anti-fungal/anti-blue treatment upon arrival to
prevent fungal growth as much as possible.
